Empowering Future Generations

I never wanted to waste a single dollar graciously given to me. Each time I was honored to receive a scholarship it pushed me harder to see the end goal.
The College of Continuing Studies increases access to educational opportunities, whether through a degree program, a certification needed for career advancement, or courses for personal enrichment. Our programs reach learners across the lifespan and around the world, from the seventh-grader in Dothan, Alabama, taking a class through our ACCESS Virtual Learning program, to the Navy Petty Officer completing a degree from a submarine deep in the Pacific Ocean to the retiree continuing to learn through our Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. With your support, we can continue to impact the lives and communities of the people of Alabama and beyond.

The College of Continuing Studies empowers lifelong learners to transform communities by delivering innovative education, consultation and professional development across the lifespan and the globe. We are uniquely positioned to improve life trajectories for thousands of people, with our broad portfolio of innovative, high-quality and accessible programs.
While we grant so many people opportunities to learn and grow that would otherwise not be available to them, we can do so much more. With your support, we can increase the number of students in underserved communities who have access to high-quality, online educational opportunities that help them finish high school and get a head start on college. We can open the door to a degree from the University of Alabama to people who would have never thought it possible. We can shape the workforce of the future by providing professional development that builds the skills our employees need to face the challenges of the future. Together, we can extend the Rising Tide beyond our current horizons to improve the lives of thousands.
