Dr. Vincent Tinto

11/9/2016

Dr. Vincent Tinto
In support of continued campus efforts for student success and retention, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Vincent Tinto will visit campus soon, and an agenda will be posted shortly. We cordially invite you to come share in the discussion about student retention and academic success and learn more!

Vincent Tinto is a distinguished University Professor at Syracuse University and the former Chair of the Higher Education Program. He has consulted widely with federal and state agencies, independent research firms, foundations, and two and four-year institutions of higher education on a broad range of higher educational issues which concern student success; particularly those of low-income, underserved and diverse backgrounds. His book, Leaving College, lays out a theory and policy perspective on student success. Tinto's Model of Institutional Departure states that to persist, students need integration into formal and informal academic and social systems. More information to follow.
