The College of Engineering at The University of Alabama has experienced marked growth and prosperity over recent years. With upgraded facilities, a flourishing undergraduate population and student competition teams starting to make a major impact, we look ahead to new areas of improvement.   • Prominent Faculty Lead Transformative Research

    Providing focused research possibilities, updated facilities and student assistance is vital to becoming a recognized institution. One way to acquire all three is through funded titles for faculty.

  • Fellowships Enable Impactful Research

    By growing the number of graduate students in College of Engineering, the amount and quality of research produced will also increase. However, higher education has competition without funding options.

  • Experiential Learning Reaches Beyond the Classroom

    The College of Engineering’s student competition teams have achieved great success in recent years and are poised to continue their efforts in new labs while also giving back to the local community and gaining invaluable experience.

As one of the five oldest engineering programs in the U.S., the presence and traditions of engineering are incredibly strong and vital to who we are at The University of Alabama. 

Our College of Engineering has the opportunity and privilege each year to equip an ever-growing number of students with the knowledge necessary to be positive change agents in our world.  Our College transforms these students into tomorrow’s leaders who will solve global challenges in areas such as energy, water, food, human health, artificial intelligence, transportation, and so many more. 

Our world-class faculty and their students forge new frontiers in science and engineering knowledge and technology in their laboratories.  They create impactful solutions today to address societal challenges tomorrow and well into the future.    

Our vision quite simply is to be the one of the most impactful engineering programs in the world.  To meet that vision, we must continue to attract the best faculty, enhance and expand our infrastructure and programs to be on and beyond the leading edge of current research frontiers, enhance the educational and career development opportunities for our students, and attract and educate the best and brightest students from both Alabama and around the world.
