Behind every great American university are strong libraries. The vision and mission of The University of Alabama requires a robust library system at its core. Our students and faculty depend on the University Libraries to provide assistance from highly skilled librarians, access to comprehensive scholarly information, research-intensive learning spaces and the latest technologies. Collectively representing the largest classroom on campus, updated University Libraries facilities are essential for creating learning and research environments for on-campus students and faculty. By incorporating new spaces focused on team-based projects, interdisciplinary scholarship and advanced technologies, the Libraries set the stage for students to learn and master the research, technology and critical thinking skills necessary to compete in a global workforce. University Libraries also preserve the traditions and history of UA and the state of Alabama, as we serve scholars from around the country who visit our Special Collections to perform research from our rare books, manuscripts, congressional archives and photos in our Alabama and Southern History collections. Together with your philanthropic support, we will advance our service and increase our offerings to current and future faculty, staff and students.

Librarianship combines Lauren’s love of teaching and research. Thanks to University Libraries and the Henderson scholarship, she’s on track to be a librarian.
A gift for University Libraries’ Collections supports the heart of the research enterprise. There’s no easier way to support all students and faculty.
Support the Largest Classroom on Campus
The well-known saying, “a rising tide lifts all boats,”is personified in spirit and truth by University Libraries, as the resources and services we provide support the success of all students and faculty of The University of Alabama. Advancements in the quality of University Libraries facilities, technologies, collections, services and programs have played a major role in the recruitment and retention of UA students and faculty. Our investments have paid other impactful dividends for the University as well. We are proud of our contributions to the campus community, and we need your help to continue to make quality improvements, which serve the teaching and research needs of our faculty and students. A gift to University Libraries is a gift of support to all who teach and attend The University of Alabama. Together, we can enhance our previous investments, grow the intellectual heart and physical center of the campus, and lift all boats on the Rising Tide of your philanthropic support.
