An acceptance letter to The University of Alabama is an invitation to a brighter future and the beginning of the unlimited possibilities students discover at the Capstone. However, many deserving students cannot afford this opportunity without financial assistance. Scholarships not only provide the priceless gateway for more students to receive a degree from UA; they also promote a more diverse, experience-rich student body.
We proudly send our undergraduate students across the commencement stage in Coleman Coliseum. Their sights set on furthering their education, many will return as graduate students. An increased number of scholarships and fellowships allow the University to enroll a greater number of graduate students and, in turn, allow us to continue shaping the next generation of innovative leaders while supporting our research, scholarship and creative activity.
Whether providing guidance on coursework, driving innovative research or encouraging scholarship development, our faculty lay the foundation for students’ success. Each year, more than 100 new scholars from around the world choose to join The University of Alabama, energized to teach and mentor some of the nation’s brightest students. Through increased endowed chairs and professorships, our faculty can advance our mission of teaching, research and service as they empower the next generation.
